Project Overview

To improve veteran player retention in Marvel Puzzle Quest, I led four major feature releases that integrated theatrical launches with in-game live events, creating fresh engagement opportunities for long-term players.

Collaborating closely with development teams, core mechanics and UX were refined to better serve veteran players while maintaining accessibility for new users—resulting in a 50% increase in Day 7 retention.

Internal challenges around development prioritization were addressed through data-driven insights that aligned teams on retention-focused improvements. This strategy boosted ROAS by 150%, increasing player LTV and driving sustained engagement across all player segments.

On the art and design front, partnerships with creative teams brought high-profile activations to life, including a cross-collaboration with Guardians of the Galaxy—Eidos-Montreal.

Our Challenge

The challenge with Marvel Puzzle Quest was improving retention and engagement among veteran players while working with a development team that was highly resistant to changes.

With high long-tail churn rates, it was essential to balance efforts between retaining dedicated players and onboarding new users. I drove cross-team alignment by leveraging data-driven insights to overcome resistance, guiding a strategic approach that fostered sustained engagement and ultimately improved long-term player retention and growth.

Measurable Impact

  • Voted Best Puzzle Game in 2020.
  • Achieved a 50% increase in Day 7 retention and a 150% improvement in ROAS.
  • Developed a P&L model to forecast the content and production roadmap.

Project Overview

Led the global launch of AxE: Alliance vs. Empire, generating over $60M in lifetime revenue and reaching 10M downloads within six weeks.

Adapting the game for Western audiences and optimized player engagement and monetization through a robust live ops and go-to-market strategy, I leveraged data mining and machine learning applications that helped our teams to optimize towards customer lifetime value.

Our Challenge

Mobile MMORPGs at a large scale are less familiar to Western players, whereas in Eastern markets, complex monetization systems and intricate game designs are widely accepted.

AxE faced the challenge of adapting these mechanics for Western audiences while also developing a well-defined and robust go-to-market strategy.

Measurable Impact

  • $60 million in lifetime revenue.
  • 10 million downloads within six weeks.
  • Top grossing — Apple & Google Play App Stores.

Project Overview

Developed internal dashboards that delivered intelligence and actionable insights, empowering the team to make data-driven improvements to gameplay, retention, and monetization strategies.

These dashboards tracked player progression, win rates, and step-changes, enabling the identification of key trends. Leveraging these insights and collaborating closely with teams, I accelerated the iterative process, optimizing engagement and monetization for incoming players.

Our Challenge

Released in 2017, Darkness Rises was a visceral RPG runner designed with monetization and progression in-mind.

Our challenge as team, was understanding completion rates and player progression.

Measurable Impact

  • 23 million worldwide players.
  • Top grossing RPG — Apple & Google Play App Stores.

Project Overview

As part of GREE’s data science team, I conducted deep-dive analyses, built regression models, and applied data processing techniques to gain insights into the behavior of paying customers.

By processing billions of rows of player behavior data, actionable intelligence was generated, driving key product improvements for War of Nations.

Our Challenge

By 2013, War of Nations had reached critical mass with millions of global players.

Our challenge was to leverage data intelligence to understand player behavior and provide actionable insights to our design teams, enabling them to refine and optimize in-game events for better engagement and retention.

Measurable Impact

  • One of the highest performing titles within the studio.
  • Top grossing MMO Strategy — Apple & Google Play App Stores.
